2012 Tenth Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®
Are you man enough to Walk a Mile in Her Shoes? This annual event brings together men and women to walk (in high heels) from Plaza de Cesar Chavez through the streets of downtown San Jose to build awareness to the problem of sexual assault in our community.
The YWCA Silicon Valley hosts this unique event and "Denim Day" during Sexual Assault Awareness Month to call attention to the staggering statistics associated with sexual assault: one-in-three women and one-in-five men, regardless of socio-economic status, will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. These events provide a light-hearted approach to a very serious subject and increase awareness of how sexual assault impacts individuals and families right here where we live. Proceeds of the Walk support the YWCA's Rape Crisis Center and other YWCA assault-prevention services.
Join us again for the 2012 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes ® on April 18th. Check back for more details for next year's event.
